Lions Tour: The Best start…

The British & Irish Lions start their tour Saturday, with a clash against the New Zealand Provincial Barbarians in Whangarei.

The tourists are widely expected to get the tour underway with a win, with their opponents largely semi-professional and drawn from players across 14 different provincial sides across New Zealand.

That said, it may take time for the different Lions combinations to gel into flowing rugby. With that in mind, we at Lap of the Odds look for the first try scorer to come via brute force.

Rory Best gets the first chance in the hooker’s jersey, and we look for the Irishman to control a rolling maul from an early line out before dotting down for a try.

William Hill is best priced at 20/1 that Best scores the first try of the game, and we will be on that.

Recommendation: Best to score first try, 1 pt, at 20/1, William Hill
