A quick look at the leaderboard after the first round of the WGC tournament in Mexico would be enough to make European golf fans proud.
Ross Fisher and Lee Westwood share the lead with three others at four under par, while Rory McIlroy and Sergio Garcia are among those just one shot back.
Talented players all, but this tends to suggest that there is some basis to the thinking at Lap of The Odds HQ that the unfamiliar greens would help those less adept with the short stick as you wouldn’t pick any of them to putt for your life!
That said, the golfing cream are not far behind. World No. 1 Dustin Johnson is only three off the lead, Jordan Speith a further shot back and Rickie Fowler lies handily placed at -2.
With this in mind, we are not recommending any changes to our previously mentioned portfolio. (Johnson, Garcia to Enjoy Mexican Fiesta)
Good luck all.
