Six Nations: Scotland The Boot

The last time Scotland won at Twickenham Michael Jackson topped the charts with his ode to female stalkers, Billie Jean.

However, they travel south Saturday in a buoyant mood, having played attractive, attacking rugby in beating Ireland and Wales, as well as in a narrow defeat in Paris.

This brand of rugby has been based on a mobile breakaway trio ensuring quick ball at the breakdown.

They now face an England team which remains unbeaten in the championship, but has stuttered to three victories. Injuries have deprived England of a consistent breakaway group, and they have struggled to obtain quick ball. England have tended to base their wins on a suffocating defence, while conceding a number of penalties.

With this in mind, one bet that appeals is Scotland to score more penalties than tries at 6/4 with Paddy Power.

Scotland have scored seven tries in the three games to date (and nine penalties) , but they face an England side which has conceded on average just a try a game under the new Eddie Jones regime.

In fact, with England as opponents, this bet would pay out in five of the last eight games, more of a 8/13 shot.

Let’s hope Scotland’s kicker has a Thriller!

Recommendation: Scotland to score more penalties than tries at 6/4 Paddy Power
