World Cup Qualifier: Ireland to Celebrate

All eyes on the Aviva Stadium tonight, as Wales travel to Dublin to take on the Republic of Ireland in this Group D World Cup qualifying clash.

A crucial match for both sides, the onus really is on Wales to win given they trail the Irish by four points, lying in third place in the group. The Welsh will be keen not to let the euphoria surrounding last summer’s European Championships drift away, and in Gareth Bale they have the game’s one true world class player.

However, the Republic will start the game in a confident mood, leading the group after three wins and a draw from their opening four games. On top of this, Ireland have not lost to the Welsh in the past six games.

Only two of the 13 matches between the two sides have ended goalless, and Ireland have scored 11 goals in their last five games.

With this in mind, the 11/2 that Ireland win with both team scoring looks a reasonable bet.

Recommendation: Ireland to win with both teams scoring at 11/2, Bet365
