Sunday Races: Naas to see you, to see you…

A strong card at Naas today includes the Irish Lincoln, and supplies a few chances to play up the week’s winnings.

Trainer Richard Fahey is well known for a fast start to the season in the U.K. from his Yorkshire base, and it could be significant that he sends four horses over to Naas.

Talisu may have the strongest chance on paper in the sprint handicap (1510 BST), he is fit from an all-weather campaign but we think he could get pipped by a local contender. Money for Great Minds could be an interesting pointer, but we liked the comeback run of Ducky Mallon at Dundalk.

With that run under the belt, and stronger handling from the saddle, this proven soft ground winner looks a very big price.

Fahey may have more joy in the following race (1540) courtesy of another fit from the all-weather in Party Tiger. A proven heavy ground winner and with the assistance, for the first time, of former champion Paul Hanagan in the saddle, he is nicely drawn and could upset the locals.

The feature Irish Lincoln (1640) looks like a well-laid out revenge mission for Aussie Valentine. Runner-up in the last two runnings of this race, he has been given a warm-up on the dirt to get cherry ripe.

His prominent running style could be better suited to the race around the bend here than the straight course at the Curragh, and weight of recent money suggests no stone has been left unturned.

Recommendations:

Ducky Mallon (1510 Naas), 22/1 Ladbrokes

Party Tiger (1540 Naas), 12/1 generally available

Aussie Valentine (1640 Naas), 5/1 generally available
