Champions League: Aubameyang to Get Goals Flowing

The Champions League restarts tonight, with a potential goal-fest between Borussia Dortmund and Monaco.

Dortmund are flying in Europe, scoring 25 goals in the Champions League, just one goal behind Barcelona’s leading total. And in Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang they have one of Europe hot young striking talents.

Now it’s true Monaco can score a goal or two as well, as 88 goals in 31 games in the French league would testify. But they have to travel to Dortmund to face the Yellow Wall – 66,000 very vocal fans. In addition, Dortmund have lost just one of their 12 home games in Europe under current coach Thomas Tuchel.

So we will be looking for Dortmund to score first, and in Aubameyang they have a player who has scored seven times in his team’s seven Champions League games this season. In fact, he has scored 25 goals this season (from 26 games) out of the likely starting line-up’s total of 47, roughly an evens shot.

Given this, the 3/1 that BetFred offers on Aubameyang scoring first looks value. (Analytics: The Nerd’s Guide to First Goalscorer…)

Recommendation: Aubameyang to score first at 3/1, BetFred
