The Premier League’s weekend fixtures start with a daunting trip to White Hart Lane for Bournemouth to take on a confident Tottenham.
Eddie Howe’s Cherries have done well this season. Among the early favourites for relegation, the Cherries now find themselves seven points clear of the relegation zone with just six games to go.
However, they face a tough task today. To say Spurs are on a run would be to downplay the situation. The home side have won their last 11 league games, their best home winning run for 30 years.
Spurs have based this success on a rock solid defence, conceding only 22 goals in their 31 games so far this season, the fewest in the league. But they have also not been too shabby going forward, and are likely to welcome back their 24-goal talisman Harry Kane after an ankle injury.
On top of this, Bournemouth have only one of their last 10 away games in the Premier League, at Swansea in December.
This all points to another home win, but odds of 1/4 are prohibitively tight. With Spurs having such a strong defensive record, the evens the home team will win to nil does have some appeal, but we will be putting our cash on a 3-0 home win at 15/2.
Recommendation: Tottenham to win 3-0 at 15/2, Paddy Power
