Premier League: Arsenal to Look to Sanchez for Leadership

Tonight’s Premier League clash sees North London giants Arsenal travel to Middlesbrough, desperate for three points to keep up their challenge for a Champions League spot.

The Gunners are currently in the middle of a sticky patch, having won just two of their last eight Premier League games, losing five. In fact, a defeat tonight would mean Arsenal losing five consecutive away league games for the first time since December 1984.

This has resulted in Arsenal dropping to seventh, 10 points off fourth and that precious Champions League spot. A victory is essential.

Middlesbrough also need the points, for very different reasons. Positioned in 19th, Boro are six points from relegation safety, and will be keen to make use of home advantage. They are unbeaten in four Premier League home games against this opposition.

That said, it’s difficult to see how Boro win this game. They have the weakest attack in the league, scoring just 22 goals in 31 games, and Arsenal will likely welcome back defensive lynchpin Laurent   Koscielny.

With the chips well and truly down, we expect Arsenal’s quality players to come to the fore. And that means commentators’ darling Alexis Sanchez. We will take the 4/1 with Tote Sport that Sanchez is named man of the match.

Recommendation: Sanchez to be named  man of the match at 4/1, Tote Sport
