FA Cup: Spurs Can Enjoy Wembley Trip

Chelsea and Tottenham, the top two teams in the Premier League, can put aside their battle for the title for one weekend. But the pressure isn’t off, as they clash at Wembley in the FA Cup semifinal.

Looking at the FA Cup stats, Chelsea should be the overwhelming favourite. Spurs have won just two of their last 16 clashes between the two in all competitions, and it was 1982 that they last beat the Blues in the FA Cup.

Chelsea have won four of their last five FA Cup semifinals, while Spurs have lost their last six.

However, this doesn’t tell the whole story. Spurs are on a roll – they have won eight games in a row in all competitions, their best run since 1960. Chelsea, on the other hand, after looking unbeatable earlier in the season have started to show signs of fatigue, losing last time out in an unflattering fashion.

Spurs are scoring for fun, and have all their to guns fit and firing. Chelsea are likely to miss defensive lynchpin Gary Cahill.

We’ll take current form over FA Cup history, and go for Spurs to win, with both teams scoring at 5/1.

Recommendation: Spurs to win with both teams scoring at 5/1, Paddy Power
