We cash in on a Banksea…

Today’s racing was ultimately successful, although another episode in our what-could-have-been annals.

The main source of success was another straight-mile masterclass from ace jockey Jamie Spencer, as he weaved his way through to pounce in the last furlong on the Luca Cumani trained Banksea as advised at 11/1.

The huge frustration was a last hurdle error from Zubayr in the Scottish Champion Hurdle that saw him denied by a nose on the line. At the advised 25/1, the place money still pays handsomely, but we will take a while to forget what could have been.

Our Scottish National hope Henri Parry Morgan cruised through a large part of the race and looked likely to compete until throwing in a calamitous error three from home that ultimately cost him what looked likely to be a place.

A day of celebration and frustration in broadly equal measure !!
