The FA Cup semifinals continue this afternoon, and, after the pyrotechnics of Saturday’s match, neutrals will be hoping for another goal-laden clash.
Manchester City start as favourites to see off a misfiring Arsenal side. They have progressed from their last eight FA Cup semifinals, and their last defeat at this stage came in 1932, admittedly against Arsenal. City have also put out three Premier League opponents on the road this season.
The Gunners do have a good record at Wembley, being unbeaten in their last six games there, but have lost seven of their last 13 games in all competitions. And two of their five wins during this spell have been against non-league Sutton and Lincoln.
Arsenal did manage to win last time out, switching to three at the back to try and stem the recent flow of goals conceded. But even then Middlesbrough, the lowest scoring team in the league, breached the new back line.
City haven’t been defensively strong this season either, but the recent return of club captain Vincent Kompany has helped somewhat to steady the ship.
With this all in mind, we look for City to win the game, but think it’s likely both teams score.
Recommendation: Man City to win and both teams to score at 11/5, Paddy Power
