Premier League: Hazard Set to Shine

Fresh from victory in the weekend’s FA Cup semifinal, Chelsea turn their attention tonight to the Premier League and the visit of Southampton.

The Blues still lead the league, despite defeat at Old Trafford last time out. However, that lead has been reduced to four points thanks to the recent impressive form of main challenger Spurs.

This becomes a very important game for the home side, a win tonight and the title becomes tantalisingly close.

However, it may not be easy. Chelsea have won only three of their last eight league games against the Saints at Stamford Bridge, and lost 3-1 last year.

In addition, Chelsea have gone 10 league games without keeping a clean sheet, while Southampton have won three of their last four Premier League games.

That said, Chelsea’s manager Antonio Conte took the precaution over the weekend to rest two key players, Diego Costa and Eden Hazard.

And it’s to Hazard that we look for today’s bet. He has scored 14 league goals this season, equalling his best record in England.

Now rested, and being a commentator’s darling, Hazard looks a good bet, at 4/1 with Paddy Power, to be named man of the match.

The more adventurous may want to look at another media favourite, N’Golo Kante to celebrate his PFA player of the year award with a barnstorming man of the match performance at 11/1. But we think this game will see goals, and plump for Hazard.

Recommendation: Hazard to win man of the match at 4/1, Paddy Power
