Europa League: Pogba to Drive United Through

Manchester United host the second leg of the Europa League semifinal against Celta Vigo tonight, hoping to progress through to the final of the one major competition they have not won.

The Red Devils hold a 1-0 advantage from the first leg in Spain, and will be confident of finishing off the job tonight.

And it’s important that they do so. This competition now offers the most likely passage into next season’s Champions League, where United need to be to attract the sort of players they need as they rebuild.

Celta Vigo, on the other hand, are attempting to win their first major trophy in Europe. They will take heart from scoring in all six of their Europa League away games this season.

That said, it’s difficult to look past United as today’s winner, and we will take a punt on Paul Pogba as first goal scorer.

Celta Vigo’s defenders are set to keep a close eye on United’s likely lone striker Marcus Rashford, who scored in the first leg. This may leave room for midfield runners, and very few have an engine like Pogba. The French star may also take penalties in Zlatan Ibrahimovic’s absence.

Recommendation: Pogba to be first goal scorer at 8/1, widely available
