The IPL rolls on to the last rites of the league stage with a match up between the already eliminated Delhi Daredevils, and the almost certainly through to the knockout stage Rising Pune Supergiant.
RPS need a win to mathematically confirm progress, more importantly it also increases the chances of an all important top two berth and hence an express route option to the final.
The bookies price this match as quite close, but as is often the case, the eliminated team are stripped of several overseas stars who have returned to their national teams now there is nothing left top play for. The Daredevils have lost first-teamers Morris, Rabada and Mathews, greatly reducing their bowling options.
It is true that RPS have lost the bowling talents of Imran Tahir and will need to look elsewhere for key wicket-takers.
Those changes all play into the hands of English all-rounder and mega-bucks signing Ben Stokes. We can expect RPS to rely more on his lethal death bowling, whilst the denuded Daredevils attack can open the door for a prolific Stokes middle-order blast with the bat.
He can win the match with bat or ball or both, and at 12/1 looks good value to be deemed Man of the Match.
