PGA Golf: Playing a Weekend Rahm

The Players Championship has reached its halfway stage, and now is the time to reassess our betting position.

Earlier this week we at Lap of the Odds HQ suggested the top of the market looked well priced to take on the field. (PGA Golf: DJ & Rory to Shine at Sawgrass)

However, both DJ and Rory now look too far back to contend, although we still expect them to play well over the weekend.

That said, there is one player on the leaderboard that is nicely played, has a tendency to outperform over the final two rounds, and has a nice price attached.

Step forward Jon Rahm. The Spaniard is in his debut season on the PGA Tour, and is creating quite a few waves. His performances have been impressive, having already won this season, and he seems to play better over the weekend as he gets to know the courses.

He is lying tied 10th at -4, just five off the lead, and can be backed at 14/1 with Bet365.

Recommendation: Rahm to win the Players at 14/1, Bet365
