Another day of success tinted with frustration.
We had described perfectly how Pass The Cristal would surge through from last to first under Martin Dwyer at Brighton. Dwyer delivered a well judged ride and a power packed finish, justifying our calculations.
Our maths judged the 7/2 at time of tipping as decent, so we were delighted to see that barely anyone agreed with us, and we were rewarded at a juicy 7/1 by the off.
The frustration came when Buzz Lightyere, now lined up to deliver the second leg of a 25/1 double could only manage third after being heavily backed into 11/8.
Whilst being badly hampered by the winner looked to cost him second place, he (and we) were unfortunate to bump into the winner having a rare good day.
That’sti five times in May we have landed one half of a double – we are knocking on that door, and hope to bash it open by month end.
