FA Cup Final: Costa, Sanchez to Shine

This evening sees the showcase of the domestic football season, the FA Cup final.¬†This season’s iteration sees Premier League champions Chelsea take on London rivals Arsenal.

The Blues start as favourites, having won the league by seven points while finishing 18 ahead of today’s opponent. That said, the two games between the sides in the league this year finished with a win each, although Chelsea’s hefty defeat at the Emirates prompted an early change in formation, with successful future results.

This match is sure to be extremely competitive, with the two sides fierce rivals. Both sides have strong attacking options, but Arsenal are riddled with defensive injuries. And it’s these worries which make us lean towards the Blues.

However, the bookies tend to agree with this assessment and the prices for a Chelsea win seem very tight. Instead we are going to side with the leading scorers from both sides to do what they do best.

Paddy Power offers 14/1 that Chelsea’s lead striker Diego Costa scores with a header. Costa has the aerial power to bully a makeshift defensive unit, and nodded one in the last time these two met. This seems a good price to us.

In addition, SkyBet offers 14/1 that Alexis Sanchez scores from outside the penalty area. The Chilean star takes the majority of free kicks for Arsenal, and we will be having a punt on this.

Recommendations:

Costa to score a header at 14/1, Paddy Power

Sanchez to score from outside the area at 14/1, SkyBet
