The powers that be give us a predominantly all-weather card on the 1st of June (I know our summers are unpredictable, but really?). That said the racing at Chelmsford in particular looks of reasonably high quality.
We mostly like to dine in style, but every now and then you can’t beat a good kebab, and whilst we can vouch for said fare at Wolverhampton, we will head to the kebab of racing – a 0-60 sprint handicap on the plastic at Newcastle, the 2020 BST race.
Sea of Green is the favourite, but he is only closely matched with an old friend of ours, Hadley, (funny how it seems….), on their running here in March.
We prefer the interesting jockey booking for the ex-Andrew Balding trained Cool Strutter. Now with Karen Tutty, he has been running consistently without a win since triumphing here in September.
He has been a busy boy with trainer’s daughter Gemma Tutty mainly on board, sharing duty with young jockey Sam James. It is eye-catching that former champion jockey Paul Hanagan gets his leg over for the first time, and he could be ideal for a horse who likes to be held up but needs some powerful assistance in the last quarter mile.
We can see this fella attracting some support, and we are happy to beat the crowd.
Recommendation: Cool Strutter, 1pt win, 7/1, Bet365, BetVictor.
