Sunday Races: A good Betty…

After the quality of Epsom it’s a bit of a come down for a poor Sunday card.  In truth we had little luck in running around Epsom’s cambers so a change of scene is welcome.

We will be heading a million miles from Epsom, figuratively and almost factually, by heading to beautiful Listowel in County Kerry.

On a modest card, we like the look of handicap debutant Betty Loch (1510 BST).

She has had the required 3 qualifying runs in maidens, and whilst those as a two year old promised little, her one run this season suggested huge progress when  narrowly beaten by a decent rival.

That run would make this race look very winnable, and whilst it’s always hard to be sure of the opposition when they are similarly lightly raced, nothing here looks to have the immediate promise of progression quite like Betty.

We expect a significant market move and recommend an early strike at decent odds.

Recommendation:  Betty Loch (1510 Listowel), 1pt win, 9/2 generally available
