Sunday Races: Wentworth course specialist

A quiet Sunday in advance of a busy week.

There is not too much to get excited about.  Tis Wonderful may make amends for an expensive Chepstow defeat last time in the closer at Salisbury.

We though head to Doncaster for today’s bet.

The sprint at Donny (1600 BST) should be run at a strong pace thanks to trail-blazer and recent winner Pipers Note. That could suit Wentworth Falls.

This horse was on a roll when winning here in the early Spring. That came to a halt when well beaten at York last time, but there was heavy rain that day and he looked ill at ease on the softened ground.

He has been given a little break to freshen up since, and that has allowed the ground time to dry out to a more favourable quick surface.

He is worth forgiving that York failure and giving him one chance to regain the progressive thread now that he has course and conditions to suit.

Recommendation:  Wentworth Falls (1600 Doncaster), 1pt win, 9/2, generally available
