The Greenbrier Open starts on Thursday, as the PGA Tour winds its way into West Virgina.
Devastating flooding wiped out this event last year, and the Old White TPC has had to be rebuilt. Measuring just over 7,000 yards, the par 70 course has massive fairways, presenting the opportunity for players to hit lots of wedges into the greens.
Kiwi Danny Lee is the defending champion, as in he won two years ago, and is in good form. He has registered three top 10s in his last six starts, and should go well.
Favourite is US Ryder Cup star Patrick Reed. The wide fairways should help a player who has had difficulty with his driver, but this blog has backed Reed before to its cost and we will steer clear.
Instead, we will take a punt on Tony Finau. There are very few that hit the ball further than the giant from Salt Lake City, and he will be looking to take advantage of the wide fairways to set up birdie opportunities.
Recommendation: Finau 0.5 points each way at 33/1, Corals (1/5 the odds for seven places)
