It is the kind of Wednesday racing designed to make sure you get on with your work, mow the lawn, etc etc and don’t get distracted by the horses !!
Nonetheless, there are a couple that catch our eye.
Erstwhile jockey, and now pundit, Hayley Turner, made a rare and successful return to the saddle a couple of weeks ago for one ride at Windsor in advance of guesting at a women jockeys’ event in Sweden.
It seems significant that she takes another ride tonight at Yarmouth on the well fancied Hart Stopper (1745 BST), when seeming not having any future event or motivation. Our guess is that she rode a few out at Michael Bell’s yard and knows that this is a great winning chance on a form horse. Take the tip.
Earlier at Lingfield (1600), Mick Channon’s well fancied Fitzwilly could complete the full “Ted Rogers” having gone 3 then 2 on his previous starts. He looks the sort that could run up a midsummer sequence, and with the powerful help of Silvestre de Sousa in the saddle, the winning run should start here.
Like an equine Ant and Dec, both horses look a bit too short in their own right, but could make for a very lucrative and entertaining double act.
Recommendation: Hart Stopper (1745 Yarmouth) & Fitzwilly (1600 Lingfield), 1pt win double, approx. 13/2
