Tuesday Racing: Kempton duo to enjoy surface

The pause before the York Ebor meeting storm sees a very moderate Tuesday card, albeit with a few useful races on the all-weather at Kempton.

The mile handicap (1545 Kempton), features a hot favourite in the Sir Mark Prescott trained win machine Anna Medici.  She is on the same mark as when winning last week and has an obvious chance.  That said she made heavy weather of that win, in what was an inferior race to this, she may be worth taking on.

Dangerous Ends is in flying form and was an unlucky third here last time.  On his previous win he doesn’t have much in hand of Makhfar, and he will need everything to drop right.

Both Bluff Cove and Satchville Flyer offer interesting longshots, but the bet here has to be the Ian Williams trained Ibazz.  Trained in France until this year and then in the small yard of Archie Watson, she was picked up by her current trainer four runs ago.  The first three of those saw here beat one horse in a turf campaign that saw her rating tumble from 82 to 69.

Switched to the all-weather last time she ran an absolute blinder when worn down in the closing stages of a strong handicap over an extended mile at Wolverhampton.  The Williams has been in great form, and this horse is dropped in class here.  Market support is always a good signal with this stable.

Half an hour later (1615), favourite Sir Titan looks generously priced.  He won his first two starts this season, and almost stole a strong race at Glorious Goodwood under a front running ride.  He is tactically versatile, but this race is certainly not as competitive as that Goodwood affair, he runs off just 4lbs higher, and after only five lifetime runs he is entitled to still be improving.

Nothing jumps out as being much of a danger, and Sir Titan looks like he should be priced well under 2/1, so we will take advantage of the longer odds.

Ibazz (1545 Kempton), 1pt win, 9/2 Skybet, BetVictor

Sir Titan (1615 Kempton), 1pt win, 11/4 generally available

Ibazz & Sir Titan, 1pt win double, approx. 20/1
