Premier League: Liverpool on the spot

Anfield hosts a match today that is a regular goal fest.  Liverpool and Arsenal both have terrifying arrays of attacking weapons, and both have porous defences, and a basketball style end-to-ender looks sure to ensue.

All Arsenal eyes will be on the returning (and possibly final) appearance of star Chilean Alexis Sanchez.

Everyone knows Alexis wants to leave, but rather like his beloved dogs, throw him a ball and he just can’t stop himself from chasing it waggy-tailed. ¬†We don’t expect a sulk, on the contrary, 6/1 about him being man if the match is tempting but only for the sense that the home team should win this high scoring duel.

Liverpool’s tricky wingers Sadie Mane and Mo Salah could prove a real handful down the channels so frequently vacated by Arsenal’s flying wing backs.

We expect the Gunners back three to have a hugely uncomfortable afternoon and there must be a strong chance of a home spot-kick at some point in proceedings.

The Paddy Power specials market offers an interesting 6/1 that Liverpool are both awarded a penalty and earn over 4.5 corners.

Both of those contingencies play well to the idea of Liverpool’s wide men causing chaos and could be the best route into a game that could frankly go in any direction.

Recommendation: Liverpool to be awarded a penalty and at least 4.5 corners, 1pt win, 6/1 Paddy Power.
