Chelsea play host to Everton today after a confidence boosting win against Spurs last weekend. That was much needed after a rocky opening defeat to Burnley.
With striker Alvaro Morata settling in, and the imminent return of playmaker Eden Hazard, Stamford Bridge fans will be expecting a return to normal service at home.
Everton though showed in a fine draw at Manchester City that they are themselves a force to be reckoned with this year.
Ronald Koeman may have lost Romelu Lukaku, but he has added key experience in the shape of returning Goodison hero Wayne Rooney, and midfield set-piece legend Gylfi Siggurdson.
We think Everton will be very competitive today despite the long trip back from Thursday’s Europa League heroics.
It may not be enough to pull off a win but an Everton goal still looks likely against a still shuffling home defence.
Siggurdson should get a few pots at goal (it remains to be seen who grabs the ball for penalties…our guess is a debate between Rooney, Siggy and Baines during which Kevin Miralles grabs the ball and has a go…).
We will back the cool Icelander to slot one chance home.
Recommendation: Gylfi Siggurdson, Anytime Goalscorer, 1pt win, 5/1 Bet365
