A very good day on the horses for subscribers, and so nearly a great day.
It was a case of deja vu for Listowel racegoers as ace claimer Lisa O’Neill once again steered the Gigginstown colours to success in the Kerry National.
We were sweet on her mount Potters Point (“Wednesday Races: The wonder of Mu…”), and given a beautiful ride the whole way, Lisa had just enough in hand to drive him home for victory at the generous odds of 8/1.
No-one can deny our persistence in trying to land a big priced double this summer, and following Potters’ victory the onus fell on Doncaster sprint tip Muatadel. Despite being heavily backed, he could only grind his way into a never nearer 3rd, with drying winds just taking too much juice from the ground.
Good enough for the each way ticket, but the long odds win return remains elusive.
Another 10pts of aggregate racing profits on the day gives another boost to a cracking September so far…..stay tuned…
