Manchester United host Everton in the Premier League’s late game this evening, in what has been billed as Wayne Rooney’s return.
And while Rooney will undoubtedly get an appreciative reception from the home fans for his lengthy service at Old Trafford, we at Lap of the Odds think his former team will show him exactly what he is now missing.
United have started the season in impressive form, collecting 10 points from four games while scoring 12 goals in the process. Everton, by contrast, have lost their last three games (including one in the Europa League), conceding eight goals without scoring.
All this points to another home win for Jose Mourinho’s side. And with the absence of Paul Pogba in United’s midfield we look to another Everton old boy Marouane Fellaini to make his mark. We like the 7/2 that the lanky midfielder scores at anytime during the match, but will take the 12/1 that Paddy Power offers that he scores with a header.
Recommendation: Fellaini to score with header at 12/1, 1 pt, Paddy Power
