Champions League: Going for goals…

The Champions League returns tonight, with three English clubs in action.

Manchester City host Ukraine’s Shaktar Donetsk, while Tottenham travel to Cyprus to play Apoel Nicosia and Liverpool face Spartak Moscow in Russia.

All three of the English teams are expected to win, but are priced accordingly.

Instead we at Lap of the Odds are going to go down a favoured route, the anytime goalscorer treble.

Manchester City have started the season on fire, scoring for fun. While Sergio  Aguero has been to the front of this goal spree, his strike partner Gabriel Jesus has still scored six times this season. He was rested on Saturday, and we expect him to score again tonight.

The same can be said of Tottenham’s Harry Kane. The English striker has only played four Champions League games in his career but already has four goals. He scored twice against Borussia Dortmund last time out, and we expect him to score once more.

Finally, Spartak Moscow have failed to keep a clean sheet in their past 11 outings in this competition, and now face a Liverpool attack that could see Firmino, Mane, Salah and Coutinho playing together for the first time. We’ll side with Sadio Mane as he also is sure to be rested given his domestic suspension.

Finally, SkyBet is offering a crowd powered offer on Manchester City, Liverpool and Real Madrid all winning tonight. Real have a tricky game away to Dortmund, but odds of 4/1, with the potential to rise, we think this is worth a punt.

Recommendations:

Jesus, Kane and Mane all to score at any time, 1 pt, at approximately 4/1, Paddy Power

Manchester City, Liverpool and Real Madrid all to win, 1 pt, at 4/1, with the potential to rise, SkyBet
