Our Champions League Man Utd & Chelsea double, advised at 5/1 (“Champions League: United and Chelsea to take spoils”) was rarely in doubt. Well at least the United leg wasn’t, the Reds running out easy 4-1 winners in Moscow.
Chelsea was much more of a rollercoaster, with the Blues falling behind before a Morata equaliser. Then just as both teams had settled for a frustrating draw, along came a little Lap of the Odds bonus, as the unlikely form of Michy Batshuayi tapped one in with the last touch of the game. Nice.
The day had started in great fashion with the narrow win of big gamble Quatrieme Ami. Advised as a confident 2pt bet at the early show 4/1 (“Wednesday Races: Danny’s the boy at Redcar“), Danny Tudhope’s mount was the gamble of the day, hitting all points south until going off at 13/8 and holding on in a ding-dong battle.
If that was the ding, the dong came soon after with the photo-finish defeat of Rapid Ranger in the last once again foiling a big double. That’s ok, we can wait until Saturday and a monster double in the offing….after all, that’ll still just be September, the month that keeps on giving…
