The Tour Championship may be over for this year, but that doesn’t mean the end of the golf this side of the pond.
Thursday sees the Safeway Open tee off, with the Silverado Resort in the Napa Valley hosting.
Leading the betting is Phil Mickelson as many of the PGA’s elite take a break after the rigours of the FedEx Series and then the Presidents Cup.
But we’ll look a little further down the pecking order for our picks. Firstly, Chez Reavie played well enough this season to make the BMW Championship in September, finishing 12th. That’s a much higher level than this tournament, and he has also shown form around this course. We’ll take a punt.
Secondly, Bud Cauley is a player we’ve had our eyes on for a while. The talented player shares a house with Justin Thomas in Florida, both a product of the University of Alabama’s golf program. Cauley ended the FedEx Series playing solid golf, and we think it’s just a matter of time before he joins his illustrious friend in the winners enclosure.
Reavie 0.5 pts each way at 40/1, 1/5 the odds for first seven, Coral
Cauley 0.5 pts each way at 40/1, 1/5 the odds for first seven, Coral
