World Cup Qualifier: Back England into corner…

England take to the field this evening for their final World Cup qualifier, this time  in Vilnius against Lithuania.

After putting most of Wembley to sleep on Thursday, England manager Gareth Southgate has promised changes. The pressure is now off, with the team having now qualified for the World Cup in Russia next year, and they are playing a very limited side. So surely England will be better??

Hopefully so, but don’t expect a runaway victory. England are lacking the creative spark that turns pressure into an overflowing of goals. We at Lap of the Odds think it likely that the Three Lions will win, after all they did triumph 3-0 here in 2015 as part of the Euros qualifying, but it could still be laboured.

SkyBet offers 9/2 that England score at least two goals and have at least nine corners. We’ll take a punt on this.

Recommendation: England to score at least two goals and have at least nine corners, 1 pt, at 9/2,  SkyBet
