Thursday Races: Heads at Ayr, Hearts at Worcester

A nice win yesterday for our friend Phil and trainer Harry Whittington, and for blog followers, with the promising chasing debut of Bigmartre.

We’ll be at Worcester today when we team up with Phil and Harry to see our own horse, The Go Tou Man make his debut in the second division of the bumper (1525 BST).

We travel in hope, but in the time honoured adage of “he’ll improve for the run”, we can’t realistically tip him given both he and the opposition remain unknown quantities.

Whilst our hearts are in Worcester, our wallets will be up at Ayr, course inspection permitting.

The heavy ground conditions here will be ideal for mudlark Buonarroti (1640).  We thought he would break a 13 race losing streak at Haydock last time, and he ran very well with just a progressive 3yo beating him narrowly.

This is his first time back on this course and ground since an easy win last Summer, and he looks well placed to win, albeit with another progressive 3yo, Bodacious Name, to beat.

It is worth giving Buonarroti one more chance, and if you fancy some each way on our horse, well we wish you luck.

Recommendation: Buonarroti, (1640 Ayr), 1pt win, 6/1 generally available
