A reasonable Monday card with the highlight coming north of the border, where a competitive Musselburgh card is crowned by a rewarding 7f handicap (1450 BST).
The progressive 3yo Big Tour arrives looking for a hat-trick, but he is on a highest ever mark, has a tricky wide draw, and is too short in the market.
Blog favourite Muntadeb should go well, and blog best friend Masham Star is sure to add crucial pace from an inside draw even if he is looking too jaded at the end of a long season to see it all the way to the line.
Pace-setting from Masham could emphasise the low draw advantage, and he could provide a decent tow into the race for those drawn low.
With that in mind we are ready to try an outside punt. Lat Hawill showed a liking for this course when 2nd in April. Whilst his form has tailed off since, a refreshing break and a significant drop in ratings allows him in here off a much lower mark.
This trip should suit, and if he can hold a good position then that is worth a few lengths at this course.
Dangers are everywhere, but we are getting considerable reward from the odds considering a number of things are in our favour.
Recommendation: Lat Hawill, (1450 BST), 0.5pts each way, 33/1 generally available
