The PGA Tour heads to Korea this week, for the inaugural CJ Cup at Nine Bridges golf course.
Given this is the first running of this event it’s difficult to pull together any form lines. However, what we can say is many of these PGA Tour professionals will find the conditions during this Asian swing alien.
One player who has already shown good form, and a liking to things Asian, is the winner of last week’s tournament in Kuala Lumpur – Pat Perez.
We at Lap of the Odds don’t think he’s been given full credit for the quality of his play last week, and is still quoted at 30/1 for this tournament.
Our next selection is out of left field. Koreans have dominated the LPGA Tour for many years now but the men have struggled to have the same impact. If there is be a venue where the men can really come to the fore it’s surely a home course.
We’ll take a punt on Jeunghun Wang who has been playing well in Europe.
Perez to win, 1 pt, at 30/1, Paddy Power
Wang 0.5 pts each way at 125/1, 1/4 the odds for first five places, Stan James
