Arsenal and Everton have the dubious privilege of attempting to uphold the English Premier League’s honour in the Europa League tonight.
The Gunners travel to Serbia to face Red Star Belgrade, currently standing top of their group with maximum points from their opening two games.
That’s the good news. On the flip side Arsenal have lost three of their last eight games in the Premier League, including Saturday’s game at Watford.
Their team is set to include a few changes, and while it is likely to look strong going forward there could also be problems defensively.
We at Lap of the Odds are reluctant to call this game, but think there could be a few goals and will take the 9/2 Paddy Power offers that there will be a headed goal as well as one scored from outside the penalty area.
Everton have only one point from their opening two games and now host Lyon, desperately needing a win to get their campaign back on track.
Lyon will be without five first team regulars, including key striker Mariano Diaz, but will also be keen to win having reached the semifinals last year and with the final set to be held at their ground.
We’ll take the home team to edge a difficult game, but with both teams scoring.
A header and shot from outside the area to be scored in Arsenal’s game, 1 pt, at 9/2, Paddy Power
Everton to win with both teams scoring, 1 pt, at 7/2, Paddy Power
