Sunday night is NFL night, and we at Lap of the Odds have a tasty treble lined up to set the bank balance right.
First up is the Tennessee Titans to beat the Cleveland Browns by more than the 5.5 point handicap. The Titans welcomed back quarterback Marcus Mariota from injury last week and after a tentative start he blossomed into the game, beating the Colts. The Browns are looking to a rookie quarterback to try and lead them to their first win of the season. We don’t think he will.
The next selection may come as a surprise. We’re taking the San Francisco 49ers to surprise the Dallas Cowboys. The 49ers have lost all six of their games so far, but the last five losses have all been by three points or less. They haven’t played a home game in a month, and we’ll take a 6.5 point advantage against a Dallas side that could be distracted by issues with their star running back and their owner.
Finally, we expect the Pittsburgh Steelers to cover the five points spread at home to the Cincinnati Bengals. The Steelers have played in fits and bursts this season, but looked like something close to their best last week when dispatching the previously unbeaten Chiefs. It’s true the Bengals have won their last two games, but the Browns and Bills are different propositions to what they now face.
Recommendations: Titans, 49ers and Steelers to beat spreads, 1 pt, at approximately 6/1, Paddy Power
