League Cup: Carabao Treble

There is League Cup action tonight, now named the Carabao Cup, with teams vying for a place in the quarterfinals.

Today’s televised game sees Manchester United travel to South Wales to take on Swansea. United manager Jose Mourinho was highly critical of his side after their loss to Huddersfield on Saturday, and it would be unusual for him not to get a reaction from his team next time out. Throw in a Swansea side that’s not playing well, losing at home to Leicester on Saturday, and we at Lap of the Odds think the Red Devils will bounce back.

Next up, Leicester host Leeds. The home team rebounded strongly to the sacking of their manager with victory on Saturday. They also performed well in beating Liverpool last round, and the players may see this competition as their chance of glory this season. Leeds also won on the weekend, but that just stopped the rot of three successive league defeats. We fancy the Foxes to come out on top.

Finally, Bournemouth entertain Middlesbrough at the Vitality Stadium. The home team won well at Stoke on Saturday and will enter the game in high spirits. Middlesbrough, on the other hand, have not won in five games, and are likely to make changes as a result. We fancy a home win.

Usually this treble would pay around 3/1, but SkyBet is offering this bet as its crowd funding bet, i.e. the more punters who place a bet the higher the odds climb, up to a maximum of 5/1.

Recommendations: Manchester United, Leicester and Bournemouth all to win, 1 pt, at 100/30, with opportunity to rise, SkyBet
