Three English clubs take to the Champions League stage tonight, with Tottenham taking on the lead role.
Spurs host Real Madrid at Wembley, hopeful that star striker Harry Kane will be fit to play after missing Saturday’s defeat to Manchester United with a hamstring problem.
Tottenham looked toothless without him on Saturday and the worry is that hamstring issues take time to heal properly.
Both sides qualify to the knockout stages with a win, and we at Lap of the Odds think Real, and Ronaldo in particular, will revel on this big stage. We look to the Portuguese superstar to score tonight.
Heading up the supporting cast is Manchester City. They travel to Italy to face Napoli. City don’t have a good record away versus Italian clubs, but they are playing with a lot of confidence at the moment.
They have lost only once in their last 10 Champions League group stage matches, and we look for Sergio Aguero to get on the score sheet tonight.
Finally, the walk on part belongs to Liverpool. They thrashed tonight’s opponent Maribor 7-0 away from home last time out, and should beat them comfortably enough again.
James Milner has forced his way back into the team’s midfield after playing as left back last season. With the Reds likely to be on the attack for most of the game, and Milner likely to be on penalty duty, he could well offer a nice price to be an anytime goalscorer.
Recommendations: Ronaldo, Aguero and Milner to score at anytime as a treble, 1 pt, at approximately 10/1, Paddy Power
