Wednesday Races: A game of wide margins…

Glad to see the back of October and we are firmly in the death throes of the turf flat season.

One of those throes comes today at Nottingham, and we are faced with an intriguing contrast in trainer tactics for two easy last time out winners.

Trainer Keith Dalgiesh is truly striking whilst the iron is blazing hot if he allows yesterday’s runaway Catterick winner Ebitda the chance for an instant follow up.

Ebitda’s smooth as silk win was worth a lot more than the 6lb penalty and he looks to have an outstanding chance here.

Main danger Lydiate Lady was also impressive when completing a hat-trick last time, but she is now up 10lbs and that could be too much.

An hour later another easy recent winner, Hitchcock waited for a new rating and looks very well-in off a mark of just 65.

This horse has yet to prove he can repeat the dose,  but such was the authority of his win last time at Musselburgh he can be fancied to follow up against a pretty weak field.

Ebitda (1430 Nottingham),  & Hitchcock (1530  Nottingham), 1pt win double, approx 15/1.
