Friday Races: Definately worth a bet

We will be at Fontwell today for a nice little Friday card, nerves gradually building before the closing bumper sees a second racecourse appearance for part-owned The Go Tou Man. Best of luck to him and all involved but we don’t know enough about him at this stage to merit a bet.

Instead we will be making sure to get to the track early for the opening staying handicap hurdle.

Favourite Lady of Longstone has slipped a long way from her best, and showed she may be back to a winnable mark last time.  That said she looks short enough for one lumbered with over 12st to carry.

We prefer Definately Vinnie who had been a year off the track before a fairly promising close fourth last time at Stratford.

The dreaded “bounce” factor is a concern, but he’s had over a month to get over that return and that will hopefully help him maintain or build on that Stratford effort.

Boy Wonder James Bowen takes the ride, with his 7lb claim effectively being a giveaway such is the prodigy’s talent in the saddle.

He can start a day well which hopefully will end well…

Recommendation: Definately Vinnie, (1330 Fontwell), 1pt win, 11/2 generally available
