It’s Sunday, and that means NFL.
This week we’re going to take a punt on a double, with the first game being the clash between last season’s Super Bowl finalist Atlanta Falcons and the Dallas Cowboys.
The Falcons started the season hoping for a return to the big show but find themselves at 4-4, having lost four of their last five games.
The Cowboys, by contrast, have won their last three games in convincing fashion. They will now have to do without their star running back Ezekiel Elliott, but know they have to continue winning if they want to claw back the Eagles.
We’ll take current form to continue and look for the Cowboys to win without the need of the handicap.
The second game sees a basement battle between the San Francisco 49ers and the New York Giants.
These two teams have a combined record of 1-16 this season, in other words both have been just dreadful.
However, the 49ers were always going to struggle, with a rookie head coach and quarterback. Some of their losses have been very close and the team could well be heading in the right direction.
The Giants are a different proposition. They were meant to be playoffs bound, but injuries and a lack of effort had put paid to that. Talk that their head coach has “lost the dressing room” doesn’t help.
We’ll take the 49ers to break their duck this season without the need of the handicap.
Recommendations: Cowboys and 49ers in a straight win double, 1 pt, at approximately 9/2, Paddy Power
