Europa League: Everton can break duck…

The Europa League returns tonight, with Arsenal traveling to Cologne and Everton hosting Atalanta.

The Gunners have already qualified as group winners, and beat today’s opponent 3-1 in the reverse fixture. Cologne are bottom of the Bundesliga are taking just two points in their opening 12 league games of the season, and also lie last in this group.

Arsenal are likely to make changes from Saturday’s team, but will start as favourites for this clash. However, Cologne will want to perform for their home fans and with the Gunners already qualified we could see a draw occurring.

Everton have not enjoyed their Europa League campaign. They lie bottom of the group, having garnered just one point from their opening four matches. They cannot now qualify for the next stage.

Atalanta won the reverse fixture 3-0, but have only won one of their 12 away European games in their history.

We’ll look for Everton to leave the tournament on a positive note now the pressure is off, winning the game and helping caretaker boss David Unsworth’s CV in the process.

Recommendation: Everton to win and Arsenal/Cologne to draw as a double, 1 pt, at approximately 11/1, Bet365
