PGA Tour: Walking the wire…

The eyes of the golfing world will turn to the Bahamas this week, as former world number one Tiger Woods returns to competitive action.

After several back operations the golfing icon makes his comeback at the Hero World Challenge, a tournament which acts as a benefit for the Tiger Woods Foundation.

The tournament has a select field, only 18 players, and the 7/2 widely available that our returning hero comes last does have some appeal given his likely rustiness and the possibility that he breaks down again.

However, instead we’ll take the 8/1 that SkyBet offers that there is a wire to wire winner, i.e. someone leads from start to finish.

While there are 18 starters, it’s easy to see around half of these ruling themselves out after just one round. Also, there’s a holiday feel to the event and it’s debatable how hard players will compete if they make a slow start.

Recommendation: Wire to wire winner, 1 pt, at 8/1, SkyBet
