December Results: How did we do?

A great month for horses finishes the calendar year in style…

The Headlines:

Bets Advised: 96

Points Profit/Loss:  +29

Pool Return:  +29%

The basis for Pool Return is discussed on the Our Results page of the site, where previous month’s results can be accessed.

Horse racing represented the bulk of December’s action, and all of the profit, gaining 34 points from 60 bets.  A deliberate move to increase strike rate sometimes at lower odds saw a year’s best 12 individual winning bets in the month, including 2 from 3 of the 2pt bets in the month (3/1 and 2/1), there were no 3pt picks.

The racing highlight had to be the Aintree big fences double of Blaklion and Gas Line Boy (21/1) which allowed us to double up returns based on the single premise that the Grand National form would hold up.  January may be starvation month under the New Year’s Resolutions, and the same applies to the horses where we face a tricky month of minimum rations after the Christmas glut of high class action.  We will tread carefully.

Football had a topsy-turvy month eventually realising a 4pt loss from 29 selections.  Last season we made some healthy profits on the Man of the Match market, and we have been cautious there after some early season disappointments, but with the season now fully mature this has started to become a focus again.  The month ended with the first of three consecutive MoM winning picks, the last two of which have ensured a decent start to 2018.

Golf was almost non-existent, whilst we broke even on the end of regular season NFL programme.

As always, many thanks for all your support.  Here’s hoping for a great 2018.
