NFL Playoffs: Chiefs to make short work of Titans

The NFL playoffs are upon us as the regular season finished with no shortage of drama and shocks.

As a result we have some intriguing ties to get our teeth into. First up are the Kansas City Chiefs who host the Tennessee Titans. After a mid season slump Alex Smith and the Chiefs seem to have unearthed their mojo in the last few weeks.

Securing the division and home advantage is a big plus, as is facing the Tennessee Titans who have somehow crept into the Playoffs with a less than stellar 9-7 record. Indeed only an ugly win against the already qualified Jaguars in their last game ensured a post season interest.

The Chiefs are -8.5 points against the spread and should be more than able to cover that differential. If they take the lead the Titans may have to go to the air where Marcos Mariota has thrown more interceptions than TD’s this season.

Its a mismatch and we expect the Chiefs to romp home comfortably.

Saturday and Sunday night both see two mouth watering ties as the surprise packet the LA Rams welcome last years Superbowl runners up the Atlanta Falcons. It could be a veritable shootout as could the New Orleans Saints match up against the Carolina Panthers.

The outcome of either could come down to the last drive of the game but over the total 48 point mark looks more than achievable in each case.

However we will leave those alone and look to Sunday’s first match to complete our double. The Jacksonville Jaguars host the Buffalo Bills as two of the most unlikely teams look to go to the Divisional Round.

For the Bills running back LeSean McCoy looks like he will be back in some capacity and he is vital to their hopes. For the Jags Leonard Fournette could also see a lot of touches as quarter back Blake Bortles has been less than assured in the last few weeks. Both defences have been superb in the regular season and will like the look of what they face on Sunday.

All of this points to a tight physical low scoring affair and under 39.5 points looks a safe play.

Recommendation: Kansas City Chiefs -8.5 points vs. Titans & Under 39.5 points in Jaguars vs. Bills. 2pts double @ 5/2 with Paddy Power
