Monday Races: Bowen to maintain hot form

A great day yesterday, where 2pt pick Vinnie Lewis didn’t give us a moment of doubt when always going like a winner in the Sussex National and forging clear for an easy success – that helped reverse and more the results of a difficult Saturday.

Monday offers us Fontwell, Hereford and Wolverhampton, not exactly the dream cards.

For a pick we will head to a muddy Hereford and the 2m4f handicap hurdle (1600).  Favourite Shroughmore Lass looks vulnerable up 9lbs for winning a minor Chepstow handicap.

One yard doing quietly well is that of former Denman rider Christian Williams. The Welshman certainly seems to know when a win is imminent with some handy gambles already landed.

His Irish import Caviar D’Allen hasn’t shown much on the racecourse yet, but there’s early money for him suggesting he may have started to show something at home.

Add with Boy Wonder James Bowen in the saddle the ingredients are there for a bit of a gamble.

Recommendation: Caviar D’Allen, (1600 Hereford), 1pt win, 8/1 William Hill
