Thursday Races: Marathon man at Wincanton…

We could do with a nice midweek winner. If in doubt head for a regional national has been an excellent motto for us of late and it’s Wincanton that throws us the tipping lifeline courtesy of the “Somerset National”

Favourite Rathlin Rose deserves market prominence following an outstanding effort in the Welsh National.  That was less than two weeks ago however, and that Welsh slog often takes longer to recover from so we are keen to pass.

Fellow favourite Cyclop earned his stripes by first chasing home the useful  Cresswell Breeze in the Southern National.  He followed that with a useful educational effort when winning at Market Raven.

For all that the favourites hold strong claims, we see a potential minor upset courtesy of Themanfrom Minella.

Habitually inconsistent in the past he finally strung two good runs together when following up a tidy second at Exeter with a cosy win at Warwick.

We have to believe he can win again given the right conditions, and it could well be today with everything set fair for a big run.

Recommendation: Themanfrom Minella, (1410 Wincanton), 1pt win, 15/2 Bet365
