Sunday’s sole Premier League game sees Tottenham travel to St. Mary’s Stadium to take on Southampton.
Spurs boss Mauricio Pochettino returns to his former club sure in the knowledge he made the right decision to leave five years ago. His current club is flying at the moment – they have taken 13 points from their last 15, scoring an average of three goals a game. A win today could take Spurs into a Champions League spot.
Southampton are in a less rosy position. They lie third from the bottom and have gone 10 Premier League games without a win, their longest such streak since 2005. On top of this they are now facing a side which they have beaten just once in their last 11 league fixtures, including losing their last two at home.
All signs point to a Spurs win and we at Lap of the Odds HQ agree. That said, you won’t win much that way. Instead we’ll take note of the recent form of midfielder Dele Alli in this fixture. The England international has scored five goals in his last four league games against Southampton, but is 2/1 to score at anytime. That seems overpriced to us, and we’ll be aboard.
Recommendation: Alli to score at anytime, 1 pt, at 2/1, Paddy Power
