It’s the fourth round of the FA Cup, and we have a tasty treble for Lap of the Odds subscribers to consider.
First up is the clash between Huddersfield and Birmingham, Premier League versus Championship.
The Yorkshire team start as favourites but not prohibitively so. They may be only two points outside the relegation zone but have been tricky to beat at home. Birmingham are also struggling in their league and haven’t reached the fifth round since 2012. Home win for us.
Next up is Millwall hosting Rochdale. The home team may be languishing in 15th spot in the Championship but if home form over the last six games was the only criteria then they would be in sixth.
This will be a tricky game for the League One visitors, not helped by recent form which has seen them lose five of their last six games. Another home win beckons.
Finally, Southampton host Watford. The Saints are third from bottom of the Premier League but have shown recent signs of improvement, including draws with Arsenal, Tottenham and Manchester United. A cup run may be what’s needed to push the club out of trouble.
Injury problems are what greet Javi Gracia for his first game in charge of Watford. The new manager could have as many as 10 first team players out. With this in mind, we’ll take the home team to win today.
Recommendation: Huddersfield, Millwall and Southampton are to win as a treble, 1 pt, at approximately 3.8/1, Paddy Power
