The big Premier League clash of the day sees Tottenham travel to Anfield to take on Liverpool, with a Champions League place firmly in play.
This game is tricky to call. Spurs are a quality side and looked very impressive in beating Manchester United midweek. They also destroyed today’s opponent at home earlier in the season.
However, their record at Anfield is nothing short of pathetic. Tottenham have only won six times in 74 games, and just once in the last 23.
That said, there are also doubts surrounding Liverpool. They were superb in beating Manchester City but followed that up with a loss to Swansea. The Reds remain defensively unreliable, and thus tricky to rely on in such a high profile game.
Instead, with two strong attacking sides with tricky forward players, we’re going to take a punt on a penalty. The odds for one being awarded are 5/2, but we’ll take the 7/2 that it is converted successfully.
Recommendation: A penalty is scored, 1 pt, at 7/2, Betfair
